Putin enacts law on low priority of arrest in business cases
MOSCOW, Jun 13 (PRIME) -- Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed into law a bill prioritizing restrictive measures against businesspeople and executives of commercial organizations other than arrest, according to a document released on the website for legal acts on Tuesday.
The bill adds a clause to the Criminal Code stipulating that the need of an additional investigation cannot be the sole and sufficient reason for prolonging arrest. The norm is introduced in order to rule out arrest prolongation in cases of an inefficient investigation.
